Unable to update

I have been trying to update my Apple TV 4K but constantly get a message that “The Apple TV update couldn’t be downloaded at this time”. Very oddly every time I try to update and fail most of my apps then have to be reinstalled.

I have restarted the device multiple times and restarted the router several times. I tried to set the device to factory fresh but still got the same error message. Any ideas? Thanks

It is likely you do not have enough space which is why the update process is offloading your apps.

Thanks. You're right - I have only 365mb space left, yet my apps only add up to approx 1gb. What on earth is filling up the space. Cant even restore the device to clear it.

That only lists installed apps. I managed to reset the device eventually and all is ok now. I think it might have been that I had it set to download new screensavers regularly and the auto delete of the old ones to make space wasn’t happening
