Unable to Verify iCloud on iPhone 5

I am able to restore my new iPhone 5 from my iCloud account, but after rebooting my iPhone is unable to verify the iCloud password and gives the following error: "Verification Failed - The request timed out". I have tried to verify on both my wifi network and Verizon's with no success. Has anyone else had this happened? Or does anyone know how to fix?
