Unboxed the phone as soon as I got it and noticed a very very tiny chip/scratch on the chrome piece right next to the sleep on/off button. Imagine if you will, taking a pin and poking an ever slight hole in the chrome.

I can run my finger over the tiny chip/scratch and it'll catch.

Everything else on the phone seems fine: the screen, buttons, etc.

The OCD side in me will be thinking about this while the realistic side tells me "be thankful you don't have any screen or button issues."

Hopefully the tiny chip/scratch won't get bigger? :(

Maybe the genius bar will laugh me out of the store telling me the tiny mark is so small it's within their "guidelines".

If you think there is a risk of this happening, just ignore it. If you take it in there probably isn't any supply for them to replace yours given the quantity of in-store pickup devices so you may need to wait it out.
