Review Here.

Since it's been a week since my last unboxing pictures. Here they are. The review will be posted, but it's going to be two weeks before I can give an accurate and detailed review. For $86.95 on Amazon currently, it's hard to say these are a bad buy at all, still waiting to find out what the SRH840s will sound like. I am not disappointed at all if anyone wants any initial feedback and these are pro headphones, not Skull Candy's.

not bad what brand do you like more for headphones shure or sennheiser?

I mean these are the only headphones I have heard from Shure and they only two other models, so it's not really a fair question if you get what I am saying. These are the best for under $90 I have heard, but until I hear the 840s I don't really want to make any initial judgements.

i understand i use both the se530's and the ie8's (both earbuds) and i think that shure produces better sound

I mean, both companies have made decent attempts in both the earphone and headphone markets, however, clearly they have spent different amounts of time in the different markets.

I have had experience with both Shure and Sennheiser.

Shure's are usually lacking in bass, and both sets I've had have serious quality issues. The wires had hardened then ripped where they go around your ears.

The Sennheisers on the other hand have been top notch for me. I have the IE8's and I have had them since January. Since then, I have brought them with my EVERYWHERE. I love them. They sound great once you figure out a good fit (which could take some time and patience). They don't provide isolation like Shure's, but I don't need the most isolation either.

Hopefully I can get some HD650's in the future for home use only.

I mean it all depends on the model. The chord on the CX300 is not the strongest in the world. The sound of the SE530s for me still tops the IE8s. I do like the feature of having a replaceable cable, but to me the sound of the SE530s was significantly better.

But, the SRH440s are a different beast.

You're right. It all varies. The IE8's do somethings that the 530's don't, and vise versa. It all depends on the person sticking them in their ears.
