While apple's X11 is okay for programs like GIMP, it is known to lack a real implementation of OpenGL (for use with wine). Or, that's what it used to be; I heard that Apple is no longer using their own version. Is it now possible to use darwine/wine for games? Could you replace :apple:'s X11 with another that has the required components?

Thanks,
Muncher

EDIT: Tried a game, guess not. I'm not gonna fiddle with a program that I need for GIMP, so it looks like I'll have to keep switching to windows.

X11 is sort of a work in progress for Apple, check out Xquartz on macosforge for newer versions of X11. It's the same code that goes into leopards X11, but more up to date, kinda like webkit builds.
