My wife's iphone (original) started skipping and pausing when using her new apple earphone with mic. She thought it might be something to do with the fact it was the 3GS earphone and mic, so then she went and bought the one just for the first gen iPhone. But, the same problem happened.

I have tested both her earbuds and they do the same thing to my iPhone 3GS.

She has tested all earphone combinations with her old nano and no problems.

This is very weird, just seeing if anyone else has had these problems.

there might be lint/moisture in your headphone jack

get a bright light and look in there

you don't want to see lint or a pink water sensor

let us know how it works out

Thanks, will do. Probably a case of the simplest explanation being the right one :)

Well, we've done cleaning of everything. iPhone plays fine with any other headsets (including an old nano headset), but whenever we the two new headsets in to either her 3G or my 3GS, eventually it will stop, start, and sometimes pause for good. Only seems to be happening with these new head phones (they are apple original) after the last software update.

I don't use apple head phone (i have some custom built ones) and I have no problems. As soon as I put in the new apple ones to either iPhone, it starts playing up.

I guess I'll have to take it to an apple service centre :(
