G'day,

My new toy 2.5 weeks out. I am currently preparing a collection of software. One thing that I used very effectively in PC/Windows was underclocking the CPU (dropping the voltage and frequency) to prolong my laptop battery (if I was away from AC point) or reduce heat (I also use a cooling pad w. fans). This summer in Australia is going to be a scorture (I live in Canberra; min 30 degree Celcius everyday) and I don't have Air Con. cause I work in a chemistry laboratory (and the fact that the building is 70 years old).

So, Is there underclocking/volting software for uMBP? Is it effective like RMclock/NHC notebook?

Also, being a chemist (i.e. work with chemicals) are there sites for chemistry programs?

I have goggled my two questions (first one more extensively) however they tend to refer to Mac Pros.

Thanks
