Time for Apple to step up to the plate and give us Underscreen Touch ID. Not having underscreen Tooch ID just encourages people not to wear masks
Apple has 6+ patents on different types of embedded Touch ID so it’s not like it’s something new to them. Also it would be an added convenience when your iPhone is laying on a desk just to touch the screen as opposed to picking it up
I typed my passcode In over 50 times yesterday what a pain
Apple please hear our request and show that you care

I type in my passcode (over 21 characters) multiple times a day and its not a big deal. We all had to do it before Face ID.

If Apple created in screen ability, fine. If not, my mask will stay on when needed and I will continue inputting my passcode.

Staying protected is a lot more important to me, than not being able to use Face ID at times.

You mean before Touch ID right? Which was quite a while ago.

Honestly Touch ID would be nice to have come back, even if it’s on the power button.

My vote would be a return to Touch ID, which I never had a problem with because I almost always touch my phone anyway when using it. I am not, however, always looking at it.

Any form of Touch ID returning would suite me just fine. Would prefer on the Power button, but if Apple can perfect under screen touch id then fine also. I cant use Face ID as the sensors give me eye sore, so currently using PIN code only on my 12 mini.

I desperately want Apple to provide a fingerprint option, underscreen, powerbutton, rear of phone... doesn't matter. But to say it "encourages" people not to wear masks is a stretch. Frankly people who don't wear masks because of the convenience of accessing their phone aren't serious about wearing masks IMO.
