I'm trying to find an solution for an unusual problem...

I am a swim coach and we have an underwater video camera that is analog (and has no way to record video by itself). We don't use it that much because we have to pull it out, hook it up to a DV camera and record. Then pull out a TV and hook up the DV camera to the TV to watch the video with the kids... not exactly as streamlined as I like.

What I like to do is hook the camera straight to the laptop and watch the video using iMovie. Is there an analog to DV converter that plugs into the PCMCIA slot or a usb device that can run straight off the power of the powerbook, or battery power. I'm really looking to simplify this process down to just the laptop and the camera so I don't have to pull out the DV camera TV and be unplugging, pluging... etc.

I want to just record... and watch the video on the laptop and be done. Thanks!
