Anyone experience an unexplained order delay on their 16 or 14" models? Ordered a custom configuration on launch, expected to delivery Nov 4-5; got a text message today notifying me of a delay, now order pushed back to Nov 23-29! A little ridiculous, but oh well. No explanation from customer service, other than a "too bad". Assuming this is related to underlying chip and component shortages. Would try and pick up in store, but this is a config that is not available in stores.

TIA!

Interesting - I also ordered a BTO launch day (base 16” with the 32GB RAM upgrade) and actually received it earlier than the delivery date - was scheduled for 11/5, received 10/29.
What does your tracking info show? I wonder if it wasn’t damaged during transit...

It didn't ship so no tracking info. Just a cryptic text message from Apple saying that some items in the order would be delayed. A little frustrated, but can't do anything about it at this point, I guess.

sucks, man. Maybe contact support and ask for a compensation or something.
They’re not going to compensate him/her. The entire world is having supply chain issues, all kinds of things are being delayed everywhere.
Thats life. I’ve been experiencing delivery delays on a lot of things lately and I bet a lot of other people here have, too.

More than anything else, the question I am seeking the answer for, is why my specific unit got delayed lol. We ordered 6 different MacBook pros for my department, all ordered after mine went in, three of which were the exact same configuration, delivering to the same address, paid with the same card, etc. 5 of the 6 have been delivered already, in the original time frame quoted. If they are dispatching orders in the order in which they were received, clearly these other computers jumped ahead of me in the proverbial virtual line. Therefore, asking exactly that question- why? My assumption is something went wrong during testing or the like with my machine and given the shortages, had to be made afresh. Hope that satisfies your curiosity….

By posting on here, I was also curious to see if anyone else was in a similar situation.
