I am from Ecuador and I'm currently living in the UK. My screen has broken twice. The first time I got it repaired in Ecuador, and last week I tried to get it repaired in London. They denied the service because the first repaired was done with unauthorized parts.
I was unaware of this because in Ecuador I followed the correct steps to do the repair properly. I checked in the Apple website, they have 2 places listed. I called one of the places and they redirected me to another shop because they only sell, they don't do repairs. Of course, it was never mentioned that the shop was not authorized by them.
I talked to a Senior Manager in Apple and it was a very long conversation, but they finally did not change the decision of not repairing it.
Now I understand how if I decided to go to an unauthorized shop because it's cheaper or any reason I should be forgetting about taking it to Apple afterwards. However, in Ecuador we do not have Apple Stores, and there are no Authorized places to get the screen repaired (I know that NOW after calling to Ecuador when the service was denied). The store that is listed as Authorized redirects you to someone else, whose fault is that? Why does Apple have places listed that do not actually do any repairs, definity not authorized repairs?
Is there anything I can do? I pated a huge amount of money, got a crappy repair which broke my screen for a second time, and now I am denied service
