Unibody CPU fan rarely turns on, laptop gets insanely hot

Today I was playing WoW and wondering why the fan doesnt ever turn on, then i saw on i Stats that the cpu temp was at 90C!!

I dl'd smcfancontrol i have it set to 6000rpm and now its at 67C!

are you sure it wasnt turning on at all, or just not spinning very fast. 90C is not necessarily that bad a temperature for a cpu, i use fan control to set an upper level of 70C so long as my cpu isnt above this temp my fans wont spin any faster than they need to to keep at this temp, perhaps yours wa sset to 90 if u have it installed

The new aluminium MacBook (Pro) have their fans set to throttle above 90° C. It's normally operation for them.
