Its with a rebate, and the rebate is a $200 Visa Gift Card.

If you go to the home page and navigate through, you will see the $999 price and rebate, in small print in a side bar, but if you go directly to the product make no mention of the rebate, kind of sneaky, and it is in person pick up only.

It used to be $799 after a $200 Visa giftcard "rebate" but I think right now they changed it to "Instant Savings". I just went to microcenter.com and selected my local Microcenter (Long Island, NY) and added it to card. Shows up as $799.99 + tax ready for checkout. Great deal for whoever is looking for one.

You know there's nothing bad to be said about a new macbook for 799... without having to fuss with rebates. You could sell me the same thing for 849 instead of 999- 200$ rebate probably.

As such, this was merely put here to let people know they changed it from rebate to instant rebate/discount. I've had 2 relatives buy it already with the rebate and I noticed they just changed it to without rebate.

I was actually looking for a macbook both new and refurbished for a while
my family n gf we going to pool the cash

Since km not home and dont use my imac as much

i went to microcenter the other night and picked this up
we got 3% tax also
so it came out to 825.... Great deal in my opinion

Cool , I just looked at them over the weekend, I have to borrow to get one, but this is a much better deal, because you also save on the tax as well.

Did anyone see a date on how long it will be at this price?

Still on sale and in stock at my Microcenter. Can't decide whether to buy now or wait for the summer faculty/student I-touch/MB deal.

Since the closest Micro Center is about 45 minutes away, I decided to go to my local Apple Store (walking distance) and see if they would price match. I was in luck, they did. So I saved gas money.

I love the machine except that it has an integrated battery.

So will apple still give you the matched price and the discount on iWork and that printer deal?

So what proof do you need for apple to match the price and do you still get the student discount on it?
