I have the 2.4ghz Macbook book, with a Hitachi 7300, 7200 rpm drive. When Wifi is turned off, bluetooth off, screen down to the last visible bar, backlight keys off. I get an amazing 3.5 hours of battery life. Is this normal?

What about the 5 hours of wifi battery life? I only get 5:03 hours with everything off.

The 7200 RPM drive may be cutting in to your battery life.
Check your free RAM - swapping to virtual memory will cut down on battery life (the HD can't spin down).
Processor intensive activity will cut in to battery life as well.
Make sure your battery is calibrated per instructions on Apple's website.

I get about 3.5-4.0 hrs of use with wifi on and screen brightness turned down. 2.4GHz with 4GB RAM and stock 5200 RPM drive.
