Hey all - I am constantly running into an issue where my desktop on my macbook "freezes" while everything else (including the finder) works fine.

I wouldnt even notice except if i try and click on my desktop - it is completely unresponsive. This is a peculiar problem! It might be happening after i drag files from a remote machine onto my desktop using my Fetch FTP program...

Obviously a restart fixes this problem - but i'd like to know why it keeps happening in the first place.
thanks guys!

I'm assuming you encounter the problem every time you use your MacBook? Create a new user and play around there and post back if you have the same problem.

no - not every time. just often enough that it's irritating.
