Hi,
So I bought a new unibody macbook in January, but today, I noticed a problem when I turned it on.
It turned on and the date/ time preferences (which were on apple automatic) now said Dec 31, 2000 @ around 6:00 PM. I also was not able to log onto the internet at all, even though there were definitely networks that I can and have connected to in the past. I restarted the computer, and all the dates reverted back to normal and I also was able to connect to the internet (I stayed in the same location).

Is this a problem with my PRAM? I'm afraid that if I ignore the problem, then it'll happen again, but with more severe consequences.

Thank you in advance!
Appreciate your help.

Your PRAM battery is failing, but isn't dead yet. I do not know if the PRAM battery is considered user-serviceable in any Mac, but I do know that it's very straightforward to replace it.
