Fellow unibody macbook users, when you hold your macbooks vertically with the hinge face down and the thumbscoop up, does your macbook lid open automatically, because im wondering wether its supposed to happen or not. btw on mine it opens.

I think im right in thinking that this is part of the design. This is my first macbook so I cannot compare but didnt the plastic macbooks have a much tighter catch?
I wouldnt worry, I've had mine since November and its not a bit different to then so I dont think its a fault.
