unibody macbook not able to boot after restart

I recently installed snow leopard and since then every time I restart the computer won't boot, just gets stuck on the apple screen and the spinning thing stops spinning. I originally did the upgrade, then wiped the drive and reinstalled leopard and then the upgrade, and finally clean install of snow leopard all with the same issue. Anyone know what could cause this? Thanks for the help.

Sorry for the late response, but have you tried a disk repair and repair permissions from the disc?
