Hello.

I recently bought a Unibody MacBook Pro (2.53 GHz with 7.200 RPM HDD) and am confused about some strange behaviour regarding the battery, temperature and RAM.

I looked three pages back, and used the search but couldn't find anything, so pardon me if this is old news.

1. My battery doesn't work for more than 3 hours while surfing with low brightness and the integrated graphics adapter. It's at 100% health.
The battery does also drain 3% capacity per hour while sleeping, something I never encountered with my iBook or MacBook. And yes, it does sleep, the light pulsates and no fan or hdd is spinning.

It is also a known problem at Apple Discussions.

Does anyone of you also have this problem and might have solved it, besides resetting SMC?

2. Using iStat (menu and Pro) I can't see the temperature of the Airport Card, as was previous possible with my MacBook. Is the card no longer monitored as it houses behind the display?
And is 64°C normal for web browsing with the discrete graphics adapter?

3. As I have the 2.53 GHz model, the Mac came with 4 GB of RAM.
Using iStat I can only see 3.75 GB of RAM, no matter if I use the discrete (9600) or integrated (9400) graphics adapter. I can understand this using the integrated one, but is the 9400 in use while I choose the 9600 in Energy Savings?
And why is the shared memory deducted in now, when the white MB didn't show the shared memory in iStat?

So in summary I would like to know, if any of you also experience the "battery drains a lot of capacity while sleeping" phenomenon, why the temperature for the Airport card is not metered and if the 9400 integrated graphics adapter is used while I choose the 9600 discrete graphics.

Thanks for any replies.
