Went to the Apple store and I felt like half of the keyboards on the unibodies were just perfection! But it seems like the other half had 'clacky' and somewhat looser keys. Definitely not as great of a typing experience. I tried probably in total 25 units comprising macbook pros, macbooks, and macbook airs.
Is this a known issue where they are considered to be the same keyboard but are actually manufactured by two different companies, like the lcd screens are? I really favor a soft, springy, deep travel feel and not toy-like cheap, loose keys like half of the laptops at the store had. I am pretty sure that it was not that some laptops were heavily used while others were new display units.
Has anyone noticed this?
