Sooo the microphone in my new macbook keeps dropping out...
like on video chat I'll be talking and then my microphone will stop recording audio randomly for 2 seconds then it'll come back 2 seconds later....
also I noticed if I yell into the microphone (don't ask) the microphone input level will automatically lower itself, but then it won't go back to the input level it was at before...
sooooo yeah :(

Perform SMC and PRAM resets and see if that helps. If not you might have to call into AppleCare. If I remember correctly, there is a .plist file or just a file that can deleted.

You also might want to create a new user just to see if it's just the user or system-wide.

EDIT: go to "Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/" find and delete "com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist. Restart your computer and see if that helps.

Thanks for trying but it didn't work :(
Any other suggestions?
