Hey everyone,
My wife was using her 2008-era Unibody MB (one right before it was rebranded a MBP) when the screen went black.
We've tried rebooting it several times, it goes to a solid gray screen - no Apple logo - and all of the old tricks don't work. I've tried the following key combos:
- C for optical drive eject
- Reset NVRAM
- Safe boot
- Verbose mode
- Startup disk select
None of them seem to do anything - I hear the fans spin up, the chime, and then the optical drive spinning up and then going to sleep. The entire time I can hear the HD - not sure exactly if it may be the culprit but it makes a 'clicking' sounds - but beyond those noises it just hangs at a gray screen until I turn it off.
Any thoughts? I'm hoping it's just the HD.
