I'm wondering how much variance there is between all of our boot times. Mine boots up in 80 seconds. That's how long it took for me to be able to open Firefox and view my homepage.

Late '08, 2.4, 2G ram, 5400 rpm ATA.

I've had the computer for about 4 days, so I'm not sure why the bootup is so slow. I thought it seemed as though it was taking too long.

My boot up time from the time that I press the power button until I reach my desktop is about 18 seconds.

Boot time from start to Firefox isn't fair because some people may have a more start up items than others, not to mention more cluttered profiles and such.

A boot time from start to end should consist from pressing the power button to the login screen.

+1 Mine is probably around 20 seconds.

About 46 seconds from power button to desktop. Base model, stock.

Yeah, I thought about that. My last boot took 39 seconds to get to the log in screen and my last trials have been quicker than my first post, but still not as fast as some others' times.

The amount of ram you have and the speed of your hard drive affects boot time.

I remember timing mine at about 20 seconds when I first received mine. It shipped running 10.5.5 and I hadn't installed a number of large applications yet.
