I just closed my computer a few minutes ago to carry it and I felt that I could depress the plastic hinge cap in effortlessly (from the outside with the display closed). Does anyone else have this issue? If it's common, I don't want to go get it fixed.

Mine does it too (n=2). Probably fine.

Just checked mine, it seems fairly firm when I press it. You're talking about the black strip on the back, correct?

Yeah; close the display and press the outside black plastic part somewhere in the middle.

I just want to see if everyone has it. If it's depress-able, then I'm not too worried.

Patient: "Doctor, it hurts when I do this.."

Doctor: "Well, then stop doing that!"

My early 2008 Macbook has it. It makes a really annoying clicking noise when I press it in. The whole length of the strip makes a clicking noise when pressed. When I first got the machine, the whole thing was solid. The whole machine feels cheap now since it makes clicking noises when I open and close the lid.
