hey guys, just wanted your input on this.

i currently have last gens mbp 13' but im thinking about selling that to get a 15 inch non unibody macbook pro. i dont know why, but i really like the styling of those. would i be losing anything important? is the screen quality the same (other than the fact the 15 is matte).

That's just awful.

1. The least powerful MacBook Unibody is nearly if not more powerful than ANY 15" MacBook Pro.

2. Going from the Unbody to that old crud heap, you're going to have a LOT of regrets. Crap keyboard, crap display, flimsy construction, latch, tiny trackpad, MAJOR hot...just don't do it.

damn. did not know it was that bad.
frick.
alright, guess thats out the question now hahah.

If you really like that styling, put up $200 and get yourself an old PowerBook G4 aluminum, exactly the same cases and they're still usable!

Also, why get rid of the 13"? I'm loving mine, I'll keep it for probably 5 years.

i really love mine also. was mulling about selling and than getting the updated models but the changes to me aren't worth it.

i duno, i just find the non unibody versions very attractive, in a retro kind of way lol.

I know what you mean, even with my 13" MacBook Pro as my main system I currently have and very OFTEN use my PowerMac G4 MDD from 2003. As well, I'm lusting after a 12" PowerBook G4!!

Apple, damn you for making products that we love to love.

I started to defend my mbp that i'm typing this on, and 07 SR MBP. Then i remembered, its the reason apple is replacing it with a new umbp in my sig. Its definitely more powerful then some of the low end unibody s, as far as graphics are concerned. 8600gt is far superior to the 9400 integrated. But, the 8600 has terrible reliability. Plus the battery life on the older machines would make the thread started regret there decision forever.
