My fan says its blowing at 2000rpm. I know rpm means revolutions per minute, but is that normal? This is my first mac, its brand new. Help??

2000rpm isn't fast and is idle speed. This isn't exclusive to macs, PCs have a few thousand rpm fan too. the fan is rated to a maximum of about 6200rpm.
