In the Depths of the SLC!
OK, I have only had a mac for a few, i mean, I have only had a Mac, for a few days, and I am curious, to uninstall programs, do you jus drag it out of the apps folder? Do you HAVE to put newly downloaded programs in the Apps folder? Is there a way to keep them on an external, and plug it in whenever I need it, and have it run, and detacht it, and all the files used to operate it go away? I'm prolly not makin any sense, but jus a question of uninstalling.

And into the trash, yes... some apps do leave some things behind like preferences etc. but 95% of the time it's just small, innocuous stuff. You can usually find most of it by doing a spotlight search for the app's name.

No, you can put them wherever you like, the Applications folder is only there to give you a way to keep things organized. You don't have to use it if you don't want.

Yup, you can do that, just drag the app to an external drive and run it from there.
