Hello! I bought an Imac 2013 that comes with Mountain or Mavericks, not sure... and i want to clean it up and install Yosemite before i start using it...

This applies:

???

Or must be in another way?

Thanks!

Those instructions are for clean installing the OS X that is already installed. You will need to create a bootable Yosemite installer: http://www.macworld.com/article/236...otable-os-x-10-10-yosemite-install-drive.html.

Make sure you do a Time Machine backup before you do a clean install. If you do a clean install don't copy back the entire backup. Only copy back the user data that you need in ~/Library/Preferences and ~/Library/Application Support.

Thanks for the answer!

If the computer is new, i dont need to do any backup right?
just create a yosemite boot in a pendrive and delete the current osx right?

If you don't care about the data you have in your current account (e.g. files on your Desktop or installed applications) then you can choose to do a backup or not. Just make sure before you erase the hard drive because after will be too late.
