I uninstalled Chrome and followed their uninstall procedures to remove all the left over folders/files it leaves behind but I can't figure out how to get rid of this. Any ideas?

If they were removed recently try logging out/in or reboot. MacOS uninstall is messy in that regard.

Not sure if this still works in Ventura, but see if this helps:

This helped me find some more lingering files on the system but didn't help remove the updater, thank you though!

Yeah I did but nothing, almost feels like it wants me to reinstall the OS ha. Still amazes me how much crap is left behind from Microsoft, Google, and other 3rd party apps on MacOS. Feels like how Windows used to be if you deleted a .exe instead of using the uninstaller.

Well, I'm glad it helped, but disappointed that his detailed instructions on how to "nuke" the Google updater (assuming you followed them exactly) apparently don't work in Ventura :-(

I lied ha, went back through the instructions and found it under /Library/Google (no tilde) then deleted that folder and it instantly disappeared. THANK YOU!

That's great news!

P.S. The tilde (~) in file paths is just a place-holder for your home directory (because that name will vary based on the user)

The best way to uninstall Chrome is never install it in the first place 😂

I have it on my Windows PC but I’m making a point not to have it on my Mac. I’m glad you got it figured out though 🙂
