I have 'fan control' installed on my macbook pro unibody as smc fan control would not work, however i would like to uninstall it and let my mac do it's thing to see the difference.
whenever i have tried to uninstall it my mac just goes insane and the fans either run continuously at max rpm or dont run at all.
i really want to get rid of this but have no idea how to go about doing it.
please please help....
thanks a lot
chris

I take it you tried following the instructions on the website?

Uninstall Instructions
Please follow these instructions to uninstall FanControl permanently:
  1. Remove the following files and folders (both on your start disk):

    /Library/StartupItems/FanControlDaemon
    /Library/PreferencePanes/Fan Control.prefPane

(You will be prompted for the Administrator's password when deleting these items.)
  2. Reboot
  3. Reset the System Management Controller (SMC). Please follow these links for instructions: Portables, Mac Mini, Mac Pro

:)

I'm wondering if "Fan Control" will run under Snow Leopard. Has anyone tested this? I use it a lot on my Macbook Pro because it works great when playing Warcraft and the Macbook starts to get a little hotter.

I found that Fan control choked under Snow leopard. Don't know bout an update, but I really want it to work.

Fan control works with snow leopard on mine but you have to use 32-bit system prefs (it prompts you to relaunch it in 32 bit when you click it). I'm going to try smc now cause i really cbf going into 32 bit mode each time i want to adjust it
