I'm trying to put a video that is 768x480 on DVD. When viewed on my laptop (and DVDSP simulator) the entire video is within frame; but when viewed on a 1080i TV set is seems to be cropped at the top and bottom and also a little on the sides. I made sure the TV settings were normal, and not stretching the video in any way and it is hooked up via HDMI. What gives with this cropping showing only when played back on a TV?

It's been a while since I've done some video work. I know of safe area, but I thought that really only applied to old analog TV's? So in DVDSP, letter-boxing instead of pan-scan should correct this?
