is it worth using unison.. i am currently using usenext which i used on windows, unfortunately using the mac version it just seems to stop downloading all the time and i have to restart the software which is getting annoying..
Unison is $9.95 a month for 20 gig which seems a bit too much and 20 gig will just go in a flash but do i get any choice ??

Are you talking about the application or a usenet server? AFAIK Unison is a mac application, you don't have to pay monthly. As a recommendation for a usenet server, I use astraweb. They have reasonable price plans.

You're right, I just noticed that have a usenet server as well. I'd go for astraweb though . $15 for unlimited DSL or you can pay per GB blocks if you don't use it a lot. I pay for the blocks and I've had it for months, they don't expire.

Good luck

cool il give it a go then cheers for your help

I use Unison with AstraWeb and they play fine together. I've also used GigaNews, which is another really good "premium" news server, but more expensive than AstraWeb (at least for my usage patterns).

Use this link to get the Astraweb Unlimited DSL package for $11/month (usually $15/month).

Don't waste money on the Unison application. SABnzbd+ is free and superior in every way for anyone using NZBs for download.

Unison is definitely worth it but as of lately it just keeps crashing way too often.

I'm seriously considering buying this after 2.0's big release. It's at 2.0.5 now.

I use Sab to download and I used to use newzbin but now it's gone. What do others use?

I use Unison 1.8. Nothing in my experience in either Windows or OS X compares with the ease of use of Unison for downloading multipart files, and that's all I use it for. I bought Unison 2 but it crashed a lot and overall it seems slower despite its performance improvement claims. I'll try it again after an update or two.
