The dock opening is bigger too! The guy who shot the vid didn't notice. It's about time.

Looking forward to hearing how it is on the phone compared to the old. Also. Is the rubber on a black one more like the feel of the white now?

To me, the opening looks smaller. The new bumper is the one on the top. I hope you are right and I am wrong, because that is the only thing keeping me from using the Apple bumper is the smaller dock connector opening.

Just bought the new one. Dock connector opening is larger.

How? :confused:

The hole through the plastic is the same size, but the hollowed-out recess around it is larger on the top bumper. This would solve a huge issue of not being able to use older cables and accessories with Apple's bumper.

The issue was the surrounding plastic being too close, they resolved this and now will be able to be used with most 3rd party cables/docks.
 
i just wanna make sure that when i order mine online i get the right one, maybe ill call the order in to make sure. i dont live anywhere near an apple store
 
I went into an APple store over the weekend and all of the bumpers to me looked to be the original and not the "universial" ones. I bought a simple clear tpu bumper in the meantime until this stuff gets sorted out.

I'm probably going to wait for the sgp neo hybrid EX. It seems to be a better bumper then apples.

i have one in black and silver. put it on once then put it back in the box. if u want it, i'll sell it for $20 shipped... i bought it direct but i dont recall how much i paid for it.

Thanks.. i'm just waiting to see if the vibrate switch has enough space for the verizon version. I bought some tpu clear bumpers in the meantine that look big enough or i can cut it slightly. I'll keep it in mind, the sliver looks real nice!

How about the headphone jack opening? Is that bigger too?
 
I regret picking up the white I wish I would've gotten the black one. The white looks bad already :mad: They won't get another $30 out of me though for another one.

I just bought a bumper (green) today at my local Apple store. The recessed area for the dock cable housing is indeed bigger - a cable I use in my car which never fit with the old bumper now fits with room to spare. I'm very happy about this change.

The "new" bumpers are universal - they'll fit the GSM iPhone 4 and the CDMA iPhone 4.
