Universal preset with abr

I like using avg bit rate so I was going to use the universal preset but change it to 2500abr since universal is made for constant quality would this mess up my encodes and I'm using a DVD source any help would be appreciated

You won't have any issues, just know that most videos do not need a bit rate of that high to retain quality so you will be sacrificing space.

If you are encoding something that has very dark areas, like music DVD's, then average bit rate may be better.
