Hello,
I have recently found an unknown and bizarrely named folder on the root of my HD.
ls -la lists it as:
drwxr-xr-x 6 dan admin 204 Oct 27 21:17 9ffffffb200

It appears to be empty of files, but with three sub-directories in it.
These are listed as:
drwxr-xr-x 2 dan admin 68 Oct 4 21:56 -0effffff88ffffff-0000000000
drwxr-xr-x 2 dan admin 68 Oct 2 02:24 -0effffff88ffffff-d68102d3c1
drwxr-xr-x 2 dan admin 68 Oct 4 21:56 -0effffff88ffffff-de8102d3c1

They look like memory allocation addresses to me...
Does anybody know what they are, and why they are there?

Thanks!

I have recently had the same problem. Above the Applications folder I have one named 6ffffff9c00. It has two subfolders with equally strange names and after deleting the folders a couple of days ago they have come back.

If anyone knows what this is I would like to know because even though I haven't had a problem it still worries me.
