Hi all,

I just installed and ran Whatsize v.10.3.91 on my macbook pro. It's an application that finds all the saved files on your hard drive and lists them in size order so you can sift through, and clean out your HD.

So I found a private folder that held 4gb worth of data. This is a new mbp, bought 2 months ago. I transferred files from my old pb, but never created a private folder.

In the folder is a 4.01gb "var" folder. Within that there is a "vm" folder that has 3 1gb documents (sleepimage, swapfile6, swapfile5) and 1 more gb of documents labeled swapfile 0-6.

Anyone know what this is and can I safely delete it? Sorry if its a dumb question it just surprised me to see so much space being used for a folder I didn't even know was there. Thanks.

woah...thanks BSL4 guy.

quick response with exactly the info I needed.
