Unknown icon in top menu bar of iMac

I've just noticed an unknown menu bar icon, I'm sure I've never seen before... nothing appears when I hover over it or click it.

Can anyone tell me...
- what it is?
- how can I get rid of it?

WD SmartWare. Came with an external drive, and if you haven't reformatted the drive, there's likely an uninstaller on the drive.
