In my list of S.M.A.R.T. attributes for the Hitachi hard drive that came with my 15" late '08 Macbook Pro (hard drive model HTS723232L9SA62), I have one, "FE (Unknown Attribute)," reported this way in utilities in both the Mac and Windows, whose raw data value is 9. The weird thing is, when testing with a Hitachi drive I purchased separately, of the exact same specs (Travelstar, 7200 RPM, 320 GB, 16 MB cache), I don't have this attribute. I'm not too concerned, as the other values for reallocated sectors, etc, are all fine, but does anybody know what this is?

Thanks,
Howie
