Hey all -
I've been getting annoyed at the AT&T data limits on both the iPhone and iPad lately. So I was hopping around and found something that I thought I would pass along. I do a lot of Netflix and Slingbox streaming and was encountering the upper limit in less than a week.
Time Warner Cable seems to have gotten into the virtual cell provider business. They have a new service called Time Warner 4G. It uses Sprint's 4G network. If you're a Roadrunner customer, it's $50 month. You can only get it if you're already a TWC customer. If you just have their cable, it's $60.
With Sprint's direct hotspot plan, it's $50 for unlimited 4G, with an additional $10 for 5gb of 3G. TWC however gives you unlimited both. Which is great for me because I only am in 4G territory 1/4 of the time. With the TWC plan you sign a 2-year contract and pay $100 for the hotspot device from Sierra Wireless. Then there's a $50 rebate.
Just thought I'd let the masses know if this hidden gem
