For those who ditched unlimited to shared and have regrets, call AT&T and ask for it back. About 2 weeks ago I activated a third iPhone in our family for our son. When doing so I pulled the trigger and switched to the shared plan. I knew instantly once I switched I would regret it. Main reason for doing so was do to the fact of getting throttled at 3gb and save a few bucks by rolling my iPad into the mix and possibly the fact to use FaceTime over 3G.
Well after yesterday's announcement of the 5 gb cap on the lte iPhone I was ticked to say the least especcially since I plan to order the 5. Anyways, I called AT&T and asked what the early termination fee was on my one line and proceeded to tell them why I was going to jump ship to another carrier. I felt that the have manipulated the plans for their bennifit and I felt that I was being penalized as a customer. To the credit of the AT&T rep who was extremely courteous and helpful she put me on hold. On return she said she was going to reactivate my wife and I's unlimited plans! When all said and done the rep even credited my account that all but wiped out what i owed on my previous minths bill. I was truly suprised and the rep that helped me deserves employee of the year.
In all I have been a pretty satisfied AT&T customer. I came from sprint and living in KC where their HQ is the service was horrid. I am hopping with Verizon's and sprints announcement of allowing FaceTime over 3G it will force AT&T into doing the same. That may be wishful thinking but who would have thought I would get my unlimited plan back after dropping it.
