I have the 1.1.4 firmware for my iPhone.

I have someone who wants to buy the phone for a family member in Colombia. I will be upgrading to the 3G, so she will take this one off my hands.

So, what do I need to do in order for her to be able to use my phone in Colombia? The phone is not currently jailbroken/unlocked.

Your help is appreciated.

Please don't thread bump.

1) Do a software restore from iTunes to get it back to 1.1.4 fresh with nothing installed.

2) You just jailbreak / unlock / activate it using Pwnage or iLiberty or Ziphone or whatever you want -- doesn't really matter what you use.

3) Provide it to her without a SIM.

The person in Columbia will get a SIM from whichever GSM provider they use and put it in the iPhone, and that's it.
