Carrier Unlock an iPhone ( UK )

Hi all,

A friend of mine gifted me an iPhone6s Plus and was sent by Carephone Warehouse to me, however the phone is locked to the O2 network, is there a way to unlock it, the person that gave me the phone is not in UK, so they can't call O2, is there any other option?

Try contacting O2 and see if they can unlock it for you.
Or pay for a 3rd party IMEI unlock.
