Hi!

I've got a question. My friend has an iphone, he just bought 3gs 32gb. It doesnt support his sim. I am going to try unlock it, but i dont know which firmware it has on, is that important to know or it doesnt matter?
Is there anyway I can just unlock it, and let it be as a regular iphone, rather than jailbroken?

I am not sure i rephrashed my questions correctly, if neccessary do please correct me.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi!

The phone says insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate iphone. I cant get to the menu to check the firmware.
The phone was probably bought from US and hasnt been activated yet. How can i get pass this and use it as a regular iphone?

I reached so far, to know the iphone had 3.1.3 software on it already, without being jailbroken before, so there is no way to use it fully functioning. But you can get it to work as a mp3 player and use other apps. So this is the best it can do at the moment :p

Do you have a official sim that would activate it?
Maybe try running blackrain to see if it hactivates and JB it.
If its on 3.1.3 it wont work and if thats the case you wont be able to unlock it either.
Just JB it.

Thanks for reply. Yes its on 3.1.3 already. Gotta wait now for the next firmware.
