Unlocked 2g phone randomly dc then rc with voicemail??

So I have an unlocked 2g that I use with tmobile. Sometimes it would just randomly disconnect from the network but would quickly reconnect. When It does, it says I have a new voicemail when I do not and I have to call my voicemail to get rid of the alert. Same thing happens when I restart my phone. Once it restarts it says I have new voicemail

any ideas?
