Unlocked 8/X available for pre-order from Apple?

I've always pre-ordered the T-Mobile version from Apple with every launch and it always has been the unlocked version. Any reason to think this will be different this year with the 8/X?

No reason to think it will be any different. So long as you are paying full price, or using IUP then the phone will be unlocked.

usually they don't offer the official Unlocked version at launch. That's why I have always bought the T-Mobile version at launch since that one has always been unlocked. Hoping to do the same thing this time again...

Do you have a T-Mobile account or will they sell them to someone without activating them? My employer pays for the service, but I own the device.
