Unlocked? Hacked?

is there a difference between being hacked and unlocked? If so how can I tell which one is the case for my iPhone

Unlocking = The process of removing the Carrier Restriction from the iPhone
Hacking = The process of being able to add and remove files from the iPhone

If you are the second owner of the phone, I'd just recommend restoring and then using your att sim. If you need it unlocked for obvious reasons, just check to see if you have an "installer" icon and there ya go
