Unlocked Iphone 1.1.2 unable to sync with Itunes

Hi,

I'm unable to sync my iphone 1.1.2 to my itunes on windows xp. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing it and when I connect it, it prompts me to update itunes to v7.4. However, I was told by the sales person that I should only sync with itunes v7.3 and below to avoid locking the phone. Is anyone able to assist me with this problem?

the phone is synced to the person's computer of whom you purchased your iphone from.

so...

the quick fix:
use winamp to sync music.

the better fix:
do a full restore to 1.1.1, then to 1.1.2, then unlock, blablabla... on YOUR computer so that itunes will pick up a "new" iphone which then sync will be assigned to your computer.
