Unlocked iPhone 3G legit - if i want to jailbreak it..will my unlock be taken away?

I live in Australia and over here were legitimately able to get them unlocked.
I have done this and without the unlock my carrier will not be supported.

But after holding off to not jailbreak for a long time now, i want to jailbreak it! So i was wondering if/when i jailbreak my iPhone 3G using quickpwn, will the unlock be taken away as in my phone will no longer be unlocked or will it still be unlocked?

Wether your phone is locked or unlocked depends on a code the baseband receives from a chip. IIRC.

Jailbreaking the phone shouldn't effect that.
