Unlocked iPhone 4 + US carrier

Dear Forum,

I hope someone could give me suggestions regarding iPhone 4 + US carrier. The situation is this: I will move from Europe to US for ten months beginning late August. Then I will need a cell phone plan for me + my family (including wife and two sons). I would also be interested in getting the new iPhone 4. As I will move back to Europe in late June next year, there is no point in getting a 24 Months plan. I also would want to use the iPhone when I return to Europe, so it needs to be unlocked (I guess …).

Best bet is to buy it from Europe where they sell them unlocked...or buy it and get it unlocked (if and when the jailbreak/unlock is released).

You can sign up for service here on an unlocked phone that you purchased in Europe without a contract.

Yes but it will still be locked.
