Hi

I found the below links from another forum. These are claimed to be unlocked iPhone 4S available for ordering now in U.S. Apple Store Online. Note there is an "unlcoked" in each link

Since Apple Store Online did have a history of undisclosed links available prior to the official launch date, I tried one of the links and sucessfully ordered one iPhone 4S and my credit card was charged the full retail price. It did not request me to provide any info relating to carrier or my phone account. All that I provide is the shipping address and credit card details along with billing address.

Upon I got the thank you screen. I checked my order status and then there is a line under "Show Configuration Details" which read "Sprint Unsubsidized Phone"

Does any one know if these are legetimate unlocked iPhone 4S???

Unsubsidised and unlocked are two different things, but I don't know if these are actually unlocked or not.

If you open the address there is "unlocked" in the address bar... Can it be asuumed that these are unlocked phones?

I would make no such assumption for what would turn into an $800 paperweight...

Go to any of the links and try to add that to cart. It fails to add that iphone to cart. So no, they are still not selling unlocked iphones on the online store. You could try the retail stores though. Check out the thread in the 'iphone' forum which says 'Congratulations, your iphone has been unlocked'.

Maybe they discovered the loophole. But I did successfully placed my order earlier. And my card was charged $649 plus tax. Have to be sure I am paying $649 for an unlocked phone...not a brick
